MA Research Track Honors Program

The program aims to enable scholastically outstanding graduate students in the Faculty of Humanities to complete their MA within the two-year timeframe set forth for the degree and to enable them to do so on a high level of scholarship.

The Mandel School will issue a call for applications for the two-year Mandel Scholarships during the spring semester of each academic school year. Eligible applicants must be scholastically outstanding undergraduates (or individuals who have competed an undergraduate degree with distinction) who plan to begin their graduate studies in the research track at the Hebrew University the following year. A prerequisite for applying is having been on the Undergraduate Dean’s List. A letter confirming that an application has been successful will be issued by the end of the school year. The scholarship is stipulated on completion of one’s undergraduate degree by the beginning of the following school year and on receiving a minimun B.A  grade avarage of 92.

An applicant who was awarded the Mandel Scholarship is automatically accepted to the MandelSchool for Advanced Studies in the Humanities. Recipients of the scholarship will receive a living stipend and be exempt from tuition. During their second year of studies, students may apply for the President’s PhD Fellowship.

Mandel School students will have the benefit of exclusive courses taught by staff from the Faculty of Humanities as well as by visiting scholars from abroad and elsewhere in Israel. In addition, the school will conduct specialized social and academic activities. Once construction of the MandelBuilding is complete, these students will be offered study space there.
